Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been a Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for more than 20 years. She was the founder of The Huffington Post and the CEO of Thrive Global. Author of over 15 books. Arianna Huffington is a writer TV personality, philanthropist, and owner of the independently free online news publication The Huffington Post. She emigrated out of Greece to England aged 16 where she obtained a MA at Cambridge University in Economics. The famous debating society The Cambridge Union was her first presidency and she did it when she was 21. Then she became a conservative syndicated writer after her graduation. When The Huffington Post launched a few years later, she developed an online voice platform which offered critiques of the political landscape. Her fame helped to attract several famous contributors who shared their views on current events political, culture and politics. Arianna was famous in 2003 when she ran as an independent candidate in the California recall election to succeed Governor Davis. Also, she was the head of a Detroit energy-efficient vehicle project. Her name was voted as the most Influential Women in Media in 2009 by Forbes in 2009, gaining the 12th place in that list. The same year, the Guardian listed her among the 100 most influential media on their list. AOL, Inc. appointed her President of their media company in 2011, after they acquired The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post included the other AOL brands like Engadget, AOLmusic Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli has two siblings, Konstantinos Stasinopoulos and Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, who both are journalists and consultants in management. Although she had a close relationship to her father, her connection with her mother shaped the remainder of her life. Even in her formative age she demonstrated the qualities of a leader for which she's still known. As a 16-year-old, she moved over to her home in United Kingdom for her higher education. She attended Girton College Cambridge. In her college years she was a member of the Cambridge Union debating group where she rose to become the first woman president, and also the only foreign president. She graduated in 1972 with an MA in Economics. She became a writer, a critic, a TV host as well as a columnist following her graduation. Also, with Bernard Levin she appeared on an edition of Face the music.
