Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin is a Canadian and New Zealand actress. Born in Winnipeg and raised in Wellington Paquin was able to make her acting debut as Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she was awarded an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at the age of 11, and was the 2nd youngest recipient in Oscar history. Anna Paquin spelled out Anna Helene Paquin was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada on the 24th of July, 1982. She is a Canadian-born actress from New Zealand. In 1993, she received the Academy Award at age 11 for playing the inquisitive and talking girl who is the daughter of Holly Hunter who played the principal role. Following a prompt to auditions open when she was nine and having no previous experience in acting the actress was chosen for Flora McGrath's part. Flora is the daughter of the Scottish pianist, who was deaf. The couple moved from Scotland to New Zealand during the middle of the nineteenth century in an effort to get married. As a teenager her family left Canada and eventually to United States. Paquin had a small part as the title character when she was still a kid as part of Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (1996) and an important role in the film Fly Away Home (1996). Paquin was Frankie Addams in a 1997 TV movie adaptation of Carson McCullers's novel The Member of the Wedding as well as a small role as the queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). She was a teenager on the screen in Hurlyburly (1998) She's All That (1999) and A Walk on the Moon (1999) as well as the character of a groupie Polexia Aphrodisa on the screen in Almost Famous (2000).
