Amy Smart is a former American actor and model. Born and brought up in California USA she started her modeling profession in Italy. Her Costly Affair, a 1996 TV film, was her first part. After a difficult fight her way to a role, she got a chance as "Starship Troopers" starring in Starship Troopers. It was a difficult transition for Amy as she had transition from modelling to the acting profession. Models aren't thought of as great actors and so tend to get smaller, insignificant roles. However, Amy was determined to keep going and transitioned to more prestigious roles. It all started with the show The 70s and the film Varsity Blues. After a few years, Amy took the leap into more leading roles. She starred in the romance film Just Friends alongside Ryan Reynolds. Amy finally got the recognition she'd been seeking since the age of 10. She went on doing some important films, including the Crank series opposite Jason Statham and the series Shameless in which she portrayed an adored recurring character.
